About

I began teaching as an assistant debate coach at Rancho Bernardo High School in 2010, drawing on my own experience as a Lincoln-Douglas debater while I was in high school. 

I have experience as a long-term substitute teacher, as both a high school English and Spanish teacher.

I began tutoring in a Chinese after school program in 4S Ranch, in San Diego, in 2013, teaching debate, literary analysis, and SAT English skills. Since 2013, I have deepened my understanding of persuasion and argumentation, passing that on to my writing students. Students who are interested in creative writing also work on their own projects with me. 

I work with students primarily via Zoom and using Google Docs.

Curriculum is entirely personalized, and I send monthly tutoring summaries so you can keep track of what we are working on.

Some students meet with me weekly and others on an as-needed basis.

9th-12th Grade – $70/hr

College Essays – $75/hr
